Last year an acquaintance said to me that you had to pick your extreme. At that time I was looking at moving to AZ we lived in Wisconsin that had seen 20 below. I guess that I truly do like the extremes. Watching the news this morning they stated that Buckeye AZ was 121! Really not that bad it is a dry heat. However, don't be fooled 121 is hot no matter what people say. Where am I going with the weather you ask? As the weather starts to change we tend to start to think about traveling. If you are looking at purchasing airline tickets in the near future I wanted to warn you about a few changes that American, Delta, and United have made. ![]() Here is what you need to look out for Here is the scoop when you are booking with the three major airlines. Beware of the Basic fare. What you ask is a basic fare. The Basic fare means you pay for the seat assignments, baggage and carry-on bag. You may say I pay for seats and checked bags I don't understand. Right! You say a few months ago I purchased a ticket and took the lowest. The fare is very similar to your normal fare and could in fact cost $10 less. However, this is where it differs. The next category up fare allows you to carry on your luggage. So you could be adding $25 to carry your bag on. But even bigger your seat assignment is not given until you get to the airport............ That means if the flight is oversold you could be staying in the heat or cold and no vacation at that moment. So how can you tell if you have a basic fare? Get your seat assignment even if it is a dreaded middle seat. Safe travels! Kim
