With the tragedy that happened in Paris again you see the question of "Should I travel?". This question has been on my mind this week as I finalize our travel reservations to Germany. The world of today has been present in my mind through the entire process of designing a trip that is both educational and interesting to all. Also keeping all of us as safe as possible. How am I trying to keep us safe? The travel insurance that I confirmed for this trip is through Roam Right, they offer an app for your phone that you can take pictures of your documents (good idea include credit cards, passport & medications) along with an alert map. This will come in handy to see what is going on in the world. We also advised STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) with the state department. Which advises the US Government where we are should something happen. I will be traveling with my children (18 & 21). We will be flying into Munich and out of Berlin. During the 8 days of extensive travel we will visit: Munich, Fussen, Rothenberg, Rudesheim, and Berlin. See what happens when you do not want to assist in the planning! Unfortunately for them they have not seen the schedule as of yet!
To get from Munich to Berlin we purchased German Rail Passes. DB Bahn will be a sight that I will be on quite a bit in the next week. To get where we want to go some of the trains have a very short connections. Like 3 minutes! I will let you know how it works out. Most of the accommodations were chosen with the train stations in mind. Maybe it has something to do with the 7:00 AM trains that we will be taking to reach the next city. Have a great week and look for updates on our journey.
